Our client is a leading global financial services firm seeking a Business Operations Manager to join their Australian office. This is a high-impact role requiring a proactive and detail-oriented professional to support finance, treasury, accounting, and operational functions while driving process improvements and managing system issues.

Reporting to the COO, the Business Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end business operations, ensuring smooth financial and operational processes, and collaborating with international teams to resolve system and treasury-related issues.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, ideal for someone who thrives in a small, close-knit team and is passionate about business operations.

What will my day to day look like?

You will be responsible for:
  • Operational Oversight: Full understanding of business functions (Operations, Compliance, Legal) to enable product and service delivery. Immediate response to operational issues, coordinating with overseas teams where needed.
  • Finance, Accounting & Treasury: Oversee books and records, ensure smooth execution of month-end processes, and manage business and employee expense frameworks. Troubleshoot and oversee client deposit and withdrawal activities.
  • Project & Change Management: Lead projects across various business functions, working with local and global stakeholders to define, implement, and optimise business processes.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyse business data, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute process enhancements to improve operational efficiency.
What skills and experience do I need?

You love operations and have Senior Operations or Finance experience within a Financial Services / Wealth Management or Trading firm.

Ops Team Leader experience would also be suitable!

You have:
  • An understanding of trade flow preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently, and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong background in finance, accounting, and treasury operations.
  • Experience in project management and change implementation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A structured and detail-oriented approach with a drive for operational excellence.
